NJSAR Meetings

New Jersey Search and Rescue® meets the first Wednesday of every month at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute at 281 Campgaw Road in Mahwah, NJ. (The Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute has a "business casual" dress code. No opened toed shoes, sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or blue jeans allowed.) Meetings start at 7:30PM and go until 10:00PM. The meeting includes a training session. Vistors and prospective members are always welcome.

Prospective new members should come to the meeting at 7:00PM (one half hour early) to attend a new member orientation. If you plan on attending a new member orientation, email Adam Levin (alevin@njsar.org) or Jen Enberg (jenberg@njsar.org).

A training drill is held the Saturday or Sunday morning following the regular meeting. Drills begin at 9:30AM and usually end around 2:00PM. In some cases, the training drill may be held on the Friday night following the regular meetings. Night drills begin at 7:30PM and usually end around 10:00PM.

The Rope Rescue team usually holds a second training drill two weeks after the general training drill. Rope team drills are scheduled for Saturday or Sunday mornings from 9:30AM to 2:00PM.

The K9 Team holds an additional two training days per month which are Sundays and are all day. Non-member dogs may not attend meetings at the Academy until they have been pre-screened by our trainers. Adult dogs must also have a CGC certification and proof of vaccinations.
