Joining NJSAR New Jersey Search and Rescue® welcomes prospective new members. Visitors are always welcome at monthly meetings. (The Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute has a "business casual" dress code. No opened toed shoes, sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or blue jeans allowed.) Come out, meet us, and get your questions answered. Prospective new members should come to the meeting at 7:00PM (one half hour early) to attend a new member orientation. If you plan on attending a new member orientation, email Adam Levin (adam.levin@njsar.org) or Jen Enberg (jen.enberg@njsar.org). NJSAR K9 Team - The K9 Team is actively seeking new members for K9 Field Support. This duty entails working very closely with the dog handlers in training and on searches. If you have interest in working with the K9 Team but owning a dog does not currently fit into your lifestyle, this may be of interest to you. Please contact Lt. Peter Bremy at K9@njsar.org for further information. Anyone interested in becoming a handler should email Lt. Peter Bremy before attending a meeting. It is not necessary to have a dog before you join our K9 program. It is important you meet with us first before acquiring a dog if you don't already have one. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 16 who would like to help search for lost persons. No experience is necessary but your should normally have some outdoor experience, especially hiking. Should be able to go out and walk for several hours in various terrain without problems.
